Here’s what the adjudicator wrote about their playing:
1. J’ai du Bon Violon: Played with energy and a sense of ensemble. Varied dynamics and temp were unanimous – well done. A well finished, quality performance.
2. A real sense of communication here: between parts, between yourselves and your conductor and most of all to the audience. Very controlled but also expressive. Well done!
3. Great change of mood and style. You really mastered the Latin-American rhythms too and I was impressed with your sense of ensemble. Classy vibrant ending!
Next steps: Really dig in on those groovy rhythms (even when you are in the ‘backing group’) You have got all the rhythms up to a high standard try and give them more edge now.
